Julia Hamilton; President of the Electrologist's Association of California; Northern Chapter

I have been in practice for 18 years in Santa Cruz, California. I practice with my aunt, Eleanor Bennet, who is also an experienced C.P.E.

We first learned of TOPICAINE® at a Northern Chapter Meeting of the Electrologist's Association of California. Estela Basso, the creator of TOPICAINE®, spoke to our group and gave a lecture on topical anesthetics that are available to electrologists.

We tried TOPICAINE® on each other as well as some of our more sensitive clients. We felt that it was every bit as effective as EMLA on the upper lip. The TOPICAINE® gel is clear and our clients liked that, compared with EMLA that is white and that is embarrasing to wear on their faces from their home to the office. We also liked that the lip was numb in just 15 minutes!

We have a few clients that come in early so that we can apply TOPICAINE® directly to their skin, and they like the personal touch; while others just buy the jar and apply it themselves.

We have tried every possible kind of topical anesthesia in our office and TOPICAINE® is by far the very best we have encountered.

Danielle Maddox; Registered Electrologist and Dental Hygienist; owner of Potentials (Los Altos, California)

I am VERY excited about your new TOPICAINE® GEL!!

Since 1980 when I began my electrolysis practice in Los Altos, California, I have searched for a product to decrease the discomfort of treatment for my clients. The upper lip area is especially tender. I am familiar with many topical gels used to numb the inside of the mouth because I have practiced as a registered dental hygienist since 1970. Unfortunately none of the oral gels are absorbed by the outer skin. I have used EMLA® cream with varying degrees of success and the client must obtain a prescription from a physician each time they need more of the cream. The cost of the EMLA® cream can also make it prohibitive for use on large areas.

When I was first introduced to TOPICAINE® GEL I was skeptical but hopeful. From the first application my clients reported increased comfort. Initially I placed the gel in the area to be treated ten minutes before the appointment time. This produced a marked decrease in sensation, not totally numb but very tolerable for most. When I sold the gel to the client to apply at home 45 minutes to one hour before treatment, the discomfort was DRAMATICALLY REDUCED for all areas. The best results were achieved when the gel was sealed with a thin plastic covering to prevent evaporation. The clients who had previously used the EMLA ® cream reported MUCH BETTER ANESTHESIA with TOPICAINE® GEL and described their skin as feeling soothed and moisturized following treatment.

Thank you again for this wonderful product. Now I can offer not only safe and effective treatment for removal of unwanted hair but COMFORTABLE treatment as well. Everyone benefits - the client is happy with the reduced sensation and is able to tolerate longer and more complete procedures. I know I can be as effective as possible with minimum distress for both of us. I often describe TOPICAINE® GEL as "anti-stress gel". I look forward to many years of success with your excellent product.

    Sincerely,

Susan Frison R.N., R. E.; owner of Professional Electrolysis Clinic (Beaverton, Oregon)

As a registered nurse and practicing electrologist, client comfort is a major priority in my practice.

Recently I received a free sample of TOPICAINE® GEL from you.

Having been disappointed in all non-prescription topicals for the past 14 years I had little hope. Most products did not adequately anesthetize, and their oiliness or residue consistencies made them virtually useless for the practitioner.

However, I sent the TOPICAINE® GEL home with a client along with the literature and proper instructions for usage. She was well pleased. Since one person is not a good study, I purchased 12 more, sold them in 3 days...and waited...for their responses; I was still skeptical and cautious! The feedback was very positive so I ordered 16 more and very soon will be placing my third order. I get "rave reviews".

It is wonderful to find a product which works so well for both the client and electrologist.

        Thanks to you,

        Sincerely;

It's easy to use. The gel is easily applied along the eye lashes providing total control in it's absolute placement. NO RUNNING.
It offers total anesthetizing around the lash area within 5 to 7 minutes.
When occluded with plastic wrap for 15 to 45 minutes, it provides great anesthetizing for eyebrows, lips and other sensitive areas.

Our company Dermagraphics, has been so pleased with TOPICAINE® GEL that we include 1 jar in each of our students' "Start-Up Kits".

    It's a great value...it's non-prescription...it works!...What more could we ask for?.

Dermagraphics Inc. offers continued education and training in our 100% Disposable Permanent Cosmetic System. We would be happy to answer your questions regarding our use of TOPICAINE® GEL.

Cheryl Piquard, CCE; Principal of Laser & Electrolysis Studio Inc. (Austin, Texas)

    May 16,2001

Frustrated with calling in EMLA prescriptions on an ongoing basis for our Laser clients, I decided to give TOPICAINE®GEL a try for myself. I had purchased Topicaine® at the SCME (Society of Cosmetic and Medical Electrologists) conference in Las Vegas, but had not used it.

One of my colleagues put EMLA on one side of the nape of my neck and Topicaine® on the other. She occluded the areas and left it on for 90 minutes. I had absolutely no idea which side had which product on it. I thought:"Wow, this EMLA really works!" She began working on the right side and I could feel the pulses slightly. After several pulses, I turned to her and said "This Topicaine is almost as good as EMLA". She said to my surprise "This is the EMLA side".

We now retail Topicaine and enjoy the convenience of having an extremely effective product available in our office for our clients immediate benefit.

Thanks for providing such a great product.

Dr Mitchell S. Shek; Medical Director of Laser Hair Removal and Aesthetics Clinic (Birmingham, Michigan)

    November 9,1999

    To Whom It May Concern:

I am a practicing Dermatologist at Dermatology Associates, P.C. in Birmingham, Michigan, and I use the product Topicaine® Gel in order to prevent discomfort in my treatment of warts.

Also, I recently opened a cosmetic center called Laser Hair Removal and Aesthetics (also in Birmingham, Michigan) and I use the product Topicaine Gel for my Laser Hair Removal patients. Applying this product to certain areas that are treated gives the patient relief in the feeling of stinging.

I feel this product is one of the best products available in the topical anesthetic market.

    Regards;

Dr Joseph Masessa, Medical Director, North Jersey Dermatology Center   (Rockaway, New Jersey)

    June 8, 1999

    To Whom It May Concern:

We have found Topicaine Gel to be effective in relieving the discomfort associated with many dermatological procedures. Topicaine is recommended for use before procedures such as laser surgery, hair removal, and the administration of local anesthesia. It is especially useful in pediatric cases requiring local anesthesia.
This product is superior to other topical anesthetics as it provides better analgesia in a short period of time. The short application time makes patient compliance easier.
